About me

I do yoga, personal training, and art with a deep passion for helping people feel strong, balanced, and connected - to themselves and to life.

Studio Shalom is how I bring these passions together - movement, creativity, and mindful living in one space.
HI, I'M SHALOM.
WHAT GUIDES ME
CONNECTION
GROWTH
COMPASSION
PRESENCE
STRENGTH
To self, others, and nature.
Building a resilient mind and body.
For myself and for others.
Lifelong learning and becoming.
Finding beauty in the here and now.
Movement and creativity have been close allies to me for several years. They have carried me through seasons of challenge, change, and growth - helping me come home to myself again and again.

My path has included years of studying the body and mind, training in various movement disciplines, teaching, creating art, and learning from life in humbling ways.

My professional accolades include an AA in art, a BA in music, college prerequisites for PTA school and a year working as a PT tech, a 200 hr YTT from 2021 and 2026, an ACE CPT certification since 2022 (renewed twice), and an Enhance Fitness Group certification from 2024.

Today, I use everything I have learned to help others build strength, find balance, and express their truest selves.

I am all about presence in the journey and living with intention, gratitude, and curiosity.

Why I created Studio Shalom

I wanted a space where people could come as they are and be supported in who they are meant to be through movement, creativity, and connection.

Ancient pictoral Hebrew translates shalom as "the destroyer of authority attached to chaos."

  • Shin (שׁ): Pictured as two teeth, meaning to crush, destroy, or consume.

  • Lamed (ל): Pictured as a shepherd’s staff, meaning authority, to lead, or to bind/yoke.

  • Mem (מ): Pictured as flowing water, meaning chaos, mighty waters, or the waters of life.

This translation implies that true peace is not the absence of conflict, but the state where nothing is missing and nothing is broken, ie harmony. Physically, this is called the state of HOME-ostasis.

A Hebrew word for artist is Omman (אָמָּן - a master workman or expert designer - rooted in training, steadfastness, and building a reliable, foundational structure.

  • Aleph (א): Originally an ox head, representing strength, leader, or primary.

  • Mem (מ): Originally water or chaos/massive waves.

  • Nun (נ): Originally a seed or fish, representing life, activity, or continuation.

  • Combined Pictorial Concept: Strong leadership or stability (Aleph) guiding the flow of creation (Mem) to bring forth an enduring result (Nun)

I love these two perspectives on chaos (mem). Chaos was seen as a state of dis-order. And creation was seen as an action of creating order out of disorder (somewhat like the Japanese concept for kinsugi). This makes me think of the nervous system's various responses to chaos: activating the parasympathetic (rest and digest) versus sympathetic (fight or flight), and how we live our life from the state of our nervous system. Do we want to create chaos or order? I focus on breathe SO much when I teach yoga and personal training because it is one of the few bridges we have between the somatic and autonomic systems to train our nervous system to live from a state of homeostasis (shalom, home, balance, harmony). This is why I incorporate tuning forks in my yoga classes - to bring us into the frequency/harmony of home. And this is why I am SO inspired by that inner knowing and sense of home that I paint.

My passion is to help connect you home (shalom), and I do it through yoga, art, and personal training.
